Title: Hanging Lakes Waterfall

The hanging lakes are located up a steep side canyon in Glenwood Canyon. Above the lakes is a natural mineral spring that is loaded with calcium carbonate. As the water falls over the edge of the lake it deposits its minerals and forms travertine. This essentially dams up that area and the water spills out somewhere else. Over the years the "dam" gets taller and taller creating a hanging lake. These falls are pouring over the face of one of those naturally created dams.,
