San Francisco de Asis mission was built by Franciscan missionaries in the late 1700's. It is one of the oldest remaining missions in New Mexico and is an amazing example of adobe architecture. Georgia O'Keefe described it as, "one of the most beautiful buildings left in the United States by the early Spaniards. This photo takes full advantage of the building's unique lines, as well as incredible late evening light bathing the church and its cross in a warm glow.,
