My primary passion is landscape photography, but sometimes a subject deserves a more intimate perspective. I always carry a black drop cloth with me when I shoot wildflowers. This shot was created by taking the cloth and positioning it to create a stark background in order to isolate the detail of Colorado's State flower. I shot it in black and white in order to increase the dramatic effect.
