I have heard it said many times that people move to Breckenridge for the winters, but they stay for the summers. I love to ski, but summer is my favorite season. Characterized by crisp mornings and warm afternoons, it just makes you feel good about life. This shot was taken on an early August morning after one of the first snows of the approaching fall. The snow level in this shot came right down to the tree line which is about 11,500 feet on east facing slopes in Summit County. The contrast of the snow on peak 8 and the green in town, along with the lines created by Washington Street make this image work.
