Title: Columbine Rock

I shoot here in Summit County as often as I can, but I often hike back to the car in the dark without shooting a frame. I thought this maybe one of those evenings. There were dark storm clouds above and I thought there was little hope of the sun shining through. I had been eying this rock outcrop with a flower garden of columbine and yellow aster, putting it in the memory bank for a future trip. Just as I was about to head home, the last rays of light slipped under the ominous storm clouds. They lit up the west side of the Ten Mile Range just long enough for me to capture this image.
