Cataract Cave

Silver Falls State Park, Oregon

Being the largest state park in Oregon running along the banks of Silver Creek this park has ten waterfalls. Four of the ten falls have an amphitheater like surrounding that allows the trail to pass behind the flow of the falls. The softer layers of Sandstone beneath the gasalt sheets had eroded over time, creating these unique pathways behind some of the waterfalls.
